Join us for an unforgettable summer of exploration, movement, and friendship at Soldier Hollow! Each week of Summer Adventure Camp features a fun, outdoor-themed focus built around hiking, mountain biking, and orienteering. Campers choose either hiking or mountain biking for their primary daily adventure and gain skills, confidence, and a love for the outdoors along the way.
Choose Your Adventure:
Hiking Option Campers will hike 1–2 miles daily on the scenic Soldier Hollow trail system. Hikes are designed to build endurance, confidence, and trail awareness while enjoying the natural surroundings.
Mountain Biking Option Mountain biking includes skills-based instruction on dirt singletrack and doubletrack trails. Riders will practice balance, braking, climbing, and descending with an emphasis on safety, confidence, and fun. Campers must bring their own properly fitted bike and helmet.
Bike Requirements: • Knobby tires and working gears required • Strider bikes and bikes without pedals are not allowed • Bikes without gears make uphill riding difficult and limit participation • Campers without an appropriate bike are always welcome to choose hiking instead
Orienteering Adventures: Orienteering combines physical activity with problem-solving and exploration. Using a specialized map and compass, campers navigate between checkpoints while hiking or biking. It’s a fantastic way to challenge both mind and body while learning real-world navigation skills.
Each day also includes open-ended arts and crafts sessions inspired by the Olympic values of friendship, camaraderie, solidarity, and fair play. These creative breaks give campers time to recharge, express themselves, and connect with peers.
What a Typical Day Looks Like: Group warm-up: stretching, yoga, or movement games • Skill development for hiking or biking • The majority of camp time spent outdoors on trails • Short creative or alternative activity sessions as weather and energy allow Our goal is to build skills, confidence, and joy in movement, while keeping camp fun and age-appropriate.
