Team SOHO's Biathlon Program strives to teach participants firearm safety and shooting fundamentals while having fun.
Junior DEVO Biathlon
Our Biathlon programs starts with our DEVO biathlon program. This is for kids aged 10-14 years old. This program focuses on prone shooting from a block to make learning the fundamentals of shooting easier and give the participants a better chance of success. Once athletes can consistently hit 4 out of 5 shots prone on prone we move them to shooting on a cuff. From there participants continue with prone until moving to the comp team. Participants will also do physical training during this program and includes, skiing, roller skiing, strength, and running.
The Head Coach for this program is Lucy Glanville, she is a 2014 Australian Olympian who competed in biathlon and is the only female in the United States to have completed the IBU Level 1 course.

Senior DEVO Biathlon
Comp biathlon is for kids 14-18 years old who want to master the fundamentals of biathlon.
Biathletes will train two days per week with a focus on safety, developing strong shooting fundamentals, introductory visualization, and learning about biathlon competition.
Workouts will include both slow-fire drills and ‘Combo’ workouts that combine shooting drills with core strength, specific strength, and/or rollerski technique. During the winter season, Comp Team athletes will compete in all IMD Nordic Junior National Qualifiers with their respective home clubs and will also have an opportunity to compete in local and regional biathlon races. There will be training camps during the season.
This program will be coached by Head Coach Gerrit Garberich who is an Internationals Biathlon Union (IBU) Level 1 Certified coach, the only male coach in the country to achieve this certification. Gerrit also was a top 5 junior biathlete when he was competing in biathlon.
The program is also coached by assistant coach Curtis Lupo who has over 20 years of biathlon competition and coaching experience and has a very sharp eye for shooting mechanics. Curtis also maintains the range for Soldier Hollow and has hosted the highest level of competition at Soldier Hollow, the IBU World Cup.
