Bike/Rollerski Helmet (bring your own or borrow one from the team basket)
Running Shoes
Rollerskis, skis, boots, and poles are available to borrow from the Nordic Center. Though not required, we recommend purchasing classic and/or skate skis with boots as having skis available at home or in the car makes it easier to get out and ski when the team isn't practicing.
How to clean your rifle - equipment recommendations & video tutorial
When purchasing a rifle you will need to know first what you would like to find. Most athletes buy the Anschutz Fortner Bolt 1827, but there are also standard bolt action rifles available from several brands. It should be stated that the Anschutz Fortner is the Gold standard and what I recommend for long term athlete development. These rifles are an investment and if taken care of are easy to sell in the future. To have a rifle that's ready for practicing, you will need source the following items:
Action
Stock
Sling
Cuff
Harness
4 Magazines
Eye cover (optional)
You may have to order the parts from 2 or more vendors. It's generally worth comparing prices. There aren't many second hand rifles on the market at any time. If you happen to find one, check with your coach before purchasing as you want to be sure it has been maintained well. Buying Complete Rifles or the Action as a Standalone: (this is the barrel, bolt, and action, which is sold without a stock or rear site). It is also possible to buy the action with a wooden stock, but I much prefer the setup that we have for the team that includes the Anschutz action mated with the adjustable stocks from Lost Nation R&D (see below).
