Competition Team

Team Soldier Hollow Competition Team is for skiers ages 14 to 19 who have an interest in racing. This is a year-round training program that focuses on building strength and endurance as well as developing technique. The Comp Team travels together to camps, including 2 summer camps, a fall camp in West Yellowstone, and all Junior National Qualifier races.

Comp Fall/Winter

Ages: 14 - 19
Ability: Experienced skiers interested in racing. 
Requirements: Water bottle and carrier, watch, running shoes, helmet, skate and classic skis, boots, and poles. 
When: Sept - March
Meeting Time:  
         Sept - Mid Oct:
                        Tuesday/Thursday/Friday at 3:00pm, Saturday at 9am
          Mid Oct - March: 
                        Tuesday - Friday 3:00pm 
                        Some Saturday mornings and weekend trips. 
Fall/Winter Program Cost: $600**
 * *Discounted to $400 if athlete commits to volunteer for 20 hours at Soldier Hollow Events.  All 2016-17 volunteer hours must be completed by Labor Day Weekend 2017 to be eligible for discount for next fall/winter season. 
Volunteer Opportunities:  Set Up for Soup and SoHo 2016,  Junior Worlds, Parking Summer 2017
Cost Includes: Coaching, Training Log, Training Plan, Fit Stop Membership (till on snow), use of Rollerskis, Wax for training and racing, support at local races. 
Not Included: Camps, Personal Equipment, Team Uniform, USSA membership (now required for all IMD races)

Comp Camps and Trips

Camp details, registration, and payment information is sent out to Comp Team members via email. Below are the out of town races and camps. 
 
West Yellowstone - November 22-27, 2016
Get on snow at the annual Yellowstone Ski Festival. This is a not to be missed chance to get your skiing legs back, work on technique, meet TONS of skiers and watch or jump in some early season races. Families are encouraged to attend but must stay and travel separately. 

JNQ Weekend #1 - Jackson, WY - Dec 16-17, 2016
All experienced Comp Team skiers are encouraged to attend this event.. Those trying to qualify for Junior Nationals are required to attend this event. 

JNQ Weekend #2 - Sun Valley, ID - Jan 12 -22, 2017
All experienced Comp Team skiers are encouraged to attend this event. Skiers trying to make Junior Nationals MUST attend these races. 

JNQ Weekend #3 - West Yellowstone, MT - February 11-12, 2017
All experienced Comp Team skiers are encouraged to attend this event. Skiers trying to make Junior Nationals MUST attend these races. The JN Team will be named at the completion of Sunday's race.
