Olympian Comp Team Workout

6/13/2015

The Comp Team was lucky to have Caitlin and Brian Gregg as their coaches for today's workout!!! The Olympian duo have quite a few accomplishments  - Caitlin 2010 Olympian, Brian 2014 Olympian, Caitlin won a bronze medal at 2015 World Championships!!!

For the workout, the group met at the base of Park City Mountain Resort and did some dynamic stretching and mobility exercises before taking off on a ski walking mission to the top of the mountain.

I haven't heard many details yet but I know they had a great time, shared lots of stories, and everyone made it to the top of the mountain and back!

A HUGE THANK YOU to Caitlin and Brian for taking time out of their busy training schedule to come inspire our crew!

Comp Summer Kick Off Camp

6/6/2015

The Comp Team celebrated the start of summer vacation with a camp in Moab!!! Coaches Tricia and Paul took the crew down for 4 days of red rocks and fun in the sun! The group camped right in town at a campground with a pool (definitely a pre-requisit for a trip to Moab in June) and did lots of hiking, running, rollerskiing, strength, games, swimming and exploring.

Check out the photos captions for details:

Summer Training Has Begun!

6/6/2015

We haven't been blogging but the Comp Team has been training! This spring the Comp Team focused on spring sports, fun workouts, and getting strong! We met for workouts at the Fit Stop 2-3 times a week, for many, in addition to spring sports like track or soccer.

Every year we do some "standard tests" to see where we are in our training. One of the tests is a basic strength test where we do pull ups, sit ups, push ups, box jumps, and dips for a minute each and count how many we can do. We do the test 3-4 times a year and the goal is to improve your own results each time!  The other test is an uphill run called Agony Hill. It is adequately named as it is so steep that you really cannot run very much of it!

Last weekend we met up with Park City Nordic and TUNA for this year's first trip up Agony. Despite being early in the season we had quite a few PR's!

I don't have the overall results but I do know that our girls took 1,2,3 overall:

Pearl 18:55
Christine 20:00
Lina 20:01
Ingrid 23:48
Addi 30:09
Xander 19:17
Joshua 24:55
Mix 34:56
