The best cross country skier from all over the USA have made their way to Soldier Hollow for this week's U.S. Cross Country Championships. Fischer Heimburger is the lone Team Soldier Hollow skier racing this week. He started off the week strong in his first ever 15km classic race by finishing 18th in the U18 category! Sunday's sprint event, held on the NEW sprint course which goes half way up Hermods Hill, proved challenging and fun. Fischer skied strong but just missed advancing to the Junior heats. He, along with many other Team SoHo skiers, got to watch the sprint heats and learn for the SuperQ and future sprints. On Sunday, Fischer wasn't the only Team SoHo suit out on course. About seven other Devo and Comp Team skiers got to forerun the event! It was great to see all the blue and green out on course. The racing continues on Wednesday with the mass start skate races. Go to www.uscrosscountrychamps2014.com for full schedule and results. In case you missed it, Fox13 had some coverage of the event on the 9:00pm news. |
