Email [email protected] This summer and fall Team SoHo has been doing a lot of agility on rollerskis! Turns out the Norwegians have been practicing too. Check out this cool video footage from a skills course race at Norwegian Nationals. Pretty cool, eh? We started a new tradition last week with the fist ever Fall Break Camp! The camp was for Comp and Devo Plus skiers and was a challenging combination of rollerskiing, running, strength, and hiking. Thursday we kicked off the camp with climbing at the Fit Stop followed by a classic rollerski speed session. Friday we arrived to find the rollerski loop packed with the best skiers from around the country. Due to the volume of fast skiers already on the track we took the opportunity to watch from the sidelines and do a moosehoof/bounding workout. The athletes also taught Coach Morgan the best way to travel downhill, by sagebush jumping! The activity consists of planting both poles and then launching over the sagebrush. I think the National Team skiers were a bit jealous of our workout ;) In the afternoon we made our way down to the new Murdock Canal trail for a skate sprint technique workout. Everyone improved their cornering, v2 alternate and v2 technique dramatically!!! Saturday, was a smaller crew but we still headed our for a hike up Iron Canyon in Park City followed by a classic specific strength workout on the rollerski track at SoHo. The new pavement sure is NICE! Remember, winter is getting closer and closer... train hard and have fun =) On Sunday, October 6 the men and women from the U.S. Ski Team are putting on two separate events. One for boys and one for girls. These are a once a year experience and are not to be missed!
FAST AND FEMALE! ALL Girls age 9 to 19. 1:00 to 5:00pm 1 Victory Lane, Park City. Our team has been doing mini Fast and Female Power Hour events but this is the once a year BIG event. There will be Olympians and U.S. Ski Team members from many different winter Olympic sports. The afternoon will be filled with fun, games, activities, inspiring stories, poster signing and all around fun. You must REGISTER for this event HERE. U.S. Men's Speed Camp! Boys age 10 to 19 with rollerski experience. 2:00 to 4:00pm at Soldier Hollow The boys felt left out of the Fast and Female movement so the FIRST EVER Men's Speed Camp is taking place at Soldier Hollow. Bring your helmet, and grab your skate rollerski equipment from the lodge for some fast, fun, rollerskiing with the men from the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team! More info on the event HERE. Questions on either event? Email [email protected]. If I don't know the answer I will help you find it =) |
