The Devo Team has had a busy end to the summer!
Last week was the first annual Devo + Comp Triathlon. The coaches made teams of 3 (comp and devo on each) and each person was assigned a leg of rollerskiing, mountain biking, or running. Tuesday was a biathlon running relay. Thursday, the final day of summer session, was the Bald Mountain Hike and end of summer picnic. Huge thanks to coaches Rosalie, Maddie, Aren, and Tricia for such a FUN summer!!! Check out the photos below. The Comp Team headed up to the Sun Valley for this year's end of summer camp! Huge thanks to the Sun Valley Ski Team for letting us join them for a few days of training. We camped at Easley (10 minutes north of Ketchum the first 3 nights and at Stanley Lake the last night. Here's what the week looked like:
Monday - Drive, set up camp, trail run Tuesday - Skate rollerski speed, check out the hot springs, run and strength Wednesday - Classic rollerski specific strength, town scavenger hunt, run and games Thursday - Bounding intervals, paddle boating and swimming at Redfish Lake, core strength on the beach Friday - Hike to Sawtooth Lake, drive home! Overall, it was a FANTASTIC camp! We learned a lot and laughed a lot. It was also great to see how much the team has improved from 1 year ago!!! Feel free to download any of the photos. Email me if you want an original. The past 3 days Devo campers have been getting strong and fit! The Mini but Mighty camp is only 3 days but it is action packed... Day 1 - Warm up run & strength, skate agility, swimming, & running speed. Day 2 - Warm up dance competition to "Stronger", classic rollerski technique & races, Momentum climbing gym, camping at Timpooneke, smores & charades Day 3 - Pack up camp, hike Mount Timpanogos via Timpooneke Trail. Props to the crew - record time and NO whining just happy campers!!! Super impressed!
We post lots of updates from Devo and Comp camps but seem to forget to take photos during regular practice. During the summer Comp Team practices 5 days a week and Devo Team 2 days a week. Cole was getting some huge air at one of our rollerski agility workouts! Check out the pics.
